Well I guess it's time I became a member. Here is the 44-01 I recently acquired. I can't wait to get a preamp in it and some loriders on it!

Is the Hanson website the only place to buy the LH3 preamp? Will it be an easy install into my 44-01 for a local technician? Will it require drilling or replacement knobs? Sorry I have no knowledge on this type of stuff.

The only drilling would be for the mini-switch that comes with the LH-3 preamp, although the 01's don't have a dual-coil bridge pup, like the 02's have. I guess if your tech is savvy enough, you could use the switch to control the Q of the mid.

Actually, the switch is not a part of the LH-3 preamp, it's a coil tap switch. The LH-3 does not require that switch. Since Lakland/Hanson does not sell the LH-3 through normal retail channels, just call them. They will hook you up with all the info you need.

So, everyone got rich today on that Facebook IPO?
I didn't get any shares allocated in the IPO, but bot some in the secondary market, and now I'm wondering if it will see $30 before it sees $50.

now back to our regular insanity....

So happy for you man. I was in front of the line on this one, but I realized I didn't really need a P for my current gigs, so I asked Adam to take it off hold. I am glad it sold quickly and I am glad it will bring joy to a new fellow Lakland owner. Don't forget to sign up at Link Removed.
On the pickguard, I was going to do the same. Roger @ Jeannie's is your friend. Maybe matte black will look killer.
Congrats!

Got in touch with Roger today. As everyone said, he seems fantastic. Turns out he'll need me to send the white pearl guard that's on there now so he can make a new one. I'll live with the current pg for a while -- I plan to use the bass at a big gig in early June -- and will deal with it after that if I still want to go with a black one.
