Not sure what it could have been, but this is what it was...

Fedex guy rang my bell, wife ran up the stairs and opened the door, and he was gone :-(.
Gotta wait one more day and I guess put a note on the door saying "We're HERE!!" to get my 4-76.
nice shot!
Oh...I would hunt him down![]()
They can't ALL be perfect. ;-D Plus, it wouldn't look right w/ birdseye. And, according to you and other LOGers, I can EQ in that perfect birdseye sound right?
That's good if you want a bass tone that pecks thru the mix![]()
No, that would be another variety of wood called 'Pecky Maple'. Very, very rare...
Fellow Laklanders! Quick question.
I just got my 55-02 set up. Holy crap. And I thought it felt good before!
Not the point. The point is while I was picking it up I noticed a new old stock (2007) 44-01. Sunburst, rosewood board, with the MK-1 Barts, at a great price. Neck was dead straight and everything was tight, light, bright, and functional. I only got about 5 minutes of good playtime with it, but I really felt it. If I were to pick it up, would I like it in the long run? Anyone out there have them who like them? Should I get it "just because"?!
There was a noticeable circular finish chip on the back. Like someone bumped it on a corner. Not noticeable while playing, but I could probably get another couple bucks off. Opinions?! PM me if you have one and have some feedback!
I am not too proud...hahaha!!![]()
If any fellow laklandites feel bored and wanna hook a brotha up with a bass for sale bump, would be appreciated
Hate selling this but need to help my daughter raise a bit more $$$ to replace her car.....and do not need 12 basses.......so off it goes.
thanks for the bumps![]()

Also, rumor mill is churning about the next iPhone having a larger screen, but we'll see. As an iOS app designer, I hope not, don't need yet another screen size to deal with, four sets of graphic assets is enough.
And... BOT only about 3 months left until the new 4-94 gets here![]()
To WoodyG3: TRUE!! I will.
I've wanted Sea Monster for a while but rarely (if ever) let Markus know cause I figured it was a "lifer" for him. Then one day he texts me saying "you want it?"
And, I had wanted a 55-76 for years... missed out on the one that Doug now has. And, since I now play only 4s in my cover band, my lust shifted to a 4-76 w/ the amber one being top of the heap. Must've been fate.
This came in yesterday
Not getting an image on my silly iPhone, do I don't know whether or not to be envious.
I'm hoping not; I've got envy-fatigue after the week that Jedi's had.
Well, I'd say pick up the 44-01 for 2 reasons: It has its own unique tone that not even the 55-02 can nail, and it works REALLY WELL in the mix. My 44-01 and 55-01 basses are some of the best recording basses I own... punchy and articulate in the mix and very supportive. The MK-1 preamp isn't as robust as the LH-3, but if you aren't heavy-handed with it, it sounds fantastic.
I say get it!
This is my first Lakland and I really dig the neck and the pickups. The preamp is ok. I'm used to a Sadowsky pre in my Fender. I may swap that out. I'm going to wait a while and see if the mk1 grows on me. I'm blown away by the fit and finish of this instrument. I should probably just search but do most of you use Lakland strings?
Standard-gauge Rotosound Steel Roundwounds here.
I'm a traditionalist - Darryl Jones with Rotos is the bomb!
I'm feeling much better, thanks. MI was...well...MI. I'll be back up there week after next.
I used to live in Detroit, that's where I saw my first Lakland. That city has a great music scene and some great people. But you couldn't pay me enough to live there again. I have to go to Saudi Arabia next month and be out before Ramadan starts, I'd rather go there than Detroit.
Just spent some quality time w/ Sea Monster playing along w/ some tunes.... getting to know her.

She's the master of all Ps ! That is all.
As you were
She's lightweight too! I know I'm massively strong :hiding:but she must have hummingbird bones.

I know was the lightest bass I've owned, but I'm buff so they're all lighthe he he!

Sir - I challenge your mastery!

But as a unified force - they could rule the universe!![]()
If you combined all these together would they then become the "Death Star"Like a giant Lakland transformer?

And...yes.....I still snicker every time I turn off at X69 - Big Beaver Road.

I'll have to look for the pizza place. I've been experimenting with the local places while I've been up there.
I think you gave me the nudge I needed... Will report back tonight
Edit: "chromed"? Methinks you were typing on an iPhone![]()
You are correct!!...I wish they made bass player sized iPhonesThese keyboards are itty-bitty!

Indeed... Plus auto correct changes chromes to chromed auto-magically. Can be a pita sometimes fer sherrr
I so badly want to try out TIs after hearing such good things about them. I just never have the extra cash it seems... Start working soon after being unemployed for a little over year so hopefully extra dough will not be a problem soon![]()
