Speaking of tone: I had my 55-60 (as seen above ;) ) through my Aguilar rig again, after a long time of using other rigs (borrowed and stuff), and with a little bit of compression and very little EQ tweeking... MAN what a sound :D

Yes, definitely... I've been using my Aggie GS-112's exclusively (the DB-410 sits covered in my garage), along with an old Ashdown MAG-600 (UK model) and they just make my Lakies sing...

Seriously, I wish I could take a good picture... I seem to always have a 'Jimmy Page' face whenever someone takes my picture (you know, that 'constipated' look???)

Saw it today... Looks like "Truetone Music" is unloading five of Jones' basses, including a Sadowsky and a Custom Shop Jazz. If on;y I had about 7-8 grand to blow on basses...

The problem there, my friend, is not you, but your photographers IMHO. Portraits are posed. If you don't look good for a portrait, it's because you're uncomfortable. Candids and gig pics...my rule is shoot LOTS of frames so there's LOTS from which to choose. The best candids I've ever taken were from people who didn't know they were being photographed so they looked natural and whatever the emotion of the moment was. For video, I like to know my subjects so I can anticipate their moves, but I'd rather they be involved with other stuff so I get reality in the clip.

I guess it works okay. It's just my hobby, and not my living. But, people always seem to be happy with what they see and I have a few prizes for my efforts.

While I mostly agree, I just have this knack for making stupid funny faces whenever I play... I guess the venue also has something to do with it too.
