On the subject of improvement, my vote would be to see the USA basses come down a tad in average weight, but that's just me. I think Sadowsky's light weights are a big part of their current popularity. I'd like to see more weights between 8 and 8.5 lbs. YMMV.
I was told they get their body blanks from an outside supplier, which would mean they do not select, store or age their own wood. If I was correctly informed (over the phone directly from Lakland) that's a bit of a downer.

As for the weight, for the price, I would demand a chambered body. Lull does it as a matter of course for appreciably less money. It's also a big part of the weight on Sadowsky basses. Roger Sadowsky clearly stated that chambering was the solution to the increasing weight of the wood he was getting for his bodies. At this point, it's a no-brainer.

Thnx. And yes, worth the upgrade. Having picked up a JO recently with the Standard pickups, I can hear The difference. The standards are really good pickups, don't get me wrong, but there is a distinctive openness to the chis that just does it for me and my ears. As always, YMMV.
