They're higher tension than the Ken Smith Compressors I had on beforehand, but they're comfy. And so far, they sound great - wonderful roundwound grind/zing but with a little more bottom. Me likey :D

I tied them and so far, don't like them:bawl: I'm a nickel guy though.

Best deep, grindy P tone ever, in spades, with a perfect setup and drop dead gorgeous optics, but I'm so much more comfortable with the 55-94 body shape or my Elricks when I play seated that I'm not sure I'll keep it. I'm gonna spend the weekend with it and figure things out by Sun or Mon.

I think for me it'd be a 55-64 body with the same Nordy P pup that's in the Markus orange P5 prototype. I've been playing it for an hour (before band practice) and although the sound and neck are outta this world (best grindly/growly/snarly tone I've heard) and the optics are hypnotically beautiful, the body is nowhere near as comfy for me as a 55-95. I'm 99% sure the Orange Wonder will be up for grabs and will likely post it Sunday. If anyone in Laklandville has a light (MUST be under 9 lbs) 55-94 (or 5501/2 + cash) and is interested pm me.

My 55-02 is brill. But I don't think I could come up with the extra $ in 2012, so I'm not even going to PM :-(

But honestly, I'm sorry you can't make it work with that bass. Chef *just* avoided selling the one he got after moving that one over to you. Maybe it's because money's pretty much always an issue, but for me, buying a bass I can't love is a cause of real stress to me. Even more so, now that shipping anything from Canada has become so ridiculously expensive.

Hey everybody, I recently bought my first US lakland, a 55-94 with maple board. Although my Fretboard has nice Birdseye, I have noticed that other Lakies, specifically older ones have a higher density per unit area than mine. For example: let's say my Fretboard is 25% Birdseye, while others I've observed are 75%, relatively speaking. Any thoughts?
