Sooo...how much did the two Lakland 55-94s you owned weigh?Well...surely NOT my carlo basses....but I knew that going in......bubinga is heavy wood....
That's what I thought as well. I guess I'm going to try one to hear the difference. And I guess NYC Sadowsky is a well known chambered bass.

I think the magic of chambering is that it takes any given chunk of wood's inherent weight out of the equation. I mean, sure; a lighter piece will be even lighter chambered, but you no longer have to worry about strapping on an 11-pound bass.

+1! All of mine except one have been a lot lighter. But then again, mine are all fours.Those are heavy compared to most of the US Laklands I've had.
