55-76 upgraded with LH3 and I changed out the neck for an ebony fretted board with matching headstock and black stained neck)

Carl Pedigo is a longtime master luthier for Lakland who splits his time these days between Lakland work and his own business: http://www.chicagobassdoctor.com/

He's made a few basses that are variations on Lakland models, but of course it's Lakland's (and his) call on what he can do with the designs. He makes other instruments, too.

I have yet to order a bass from him, but I will one day. He's worked on my basses for 6 years, and is a superb craftsman and a great guy.

I picked up a Nikon D5100 with the 18-55 VR lens and 55-200 lens with bag, filters, and everything else for $800 on ebay through Cameta camera. I love it.

Nice! And a big +1 on the Neo Punch. To my ears it's not very "modern". I think the trend is to make "vintage" = "bottom heavy". I think the Fralin's are a little too heavy/lumpy, IMO. But those older "vintage" bass lines (Jamerson, Cogbill, Hood) are, again IMO, very mid heavy. In the mix they end up sounding thick and full which most folks hear as being bottom heavy. Once again, IMO.


And a quick question: What are a a few tonal diffs between the Chi's and the Bart's in a Skyline Hollowbody? (I'm not looking for preferences or "I like apples more than oranges.") Inquiring minds.....:bassist:

I'd love to hear about this too. I have a hollowbody with Barts...but I was just in the right place at the right time with the right person. Loving the bass, but would like to know how some folks compare them :)

I agree, Markus. That was one of many reasons I went with a Duck Dunn with the Hansons. Of course, the perfect neck and great overall feel of the bass had a bit to do with it, too. ;)

A caveat...be weary of coated strings on a Dunn...they have no conductive properties and the hum does not go away when you play. This caused me a few hours of paranoia.
