Awesome! I've got one in Sunburst with the JO neck. What strings are you using? I need to change the stock stings -- not a fan. Thinking about Lo-Riders or maybe half-rounds.

Just got this beauty off of TB a couple weeks ago. It's gotten SO much attention at the 4 shows I've played with it. At the last show I played a woman told me she wanted to have sex with my bass, and another woman said that it's the "absolute perfect bass". I kinda agree with her....well, the latter one that is. I love my new bass but I'm not doing anything PG-13+ to it. The best thing (other than the fact that Chi-Sonics are by far the best pickups I've ever used) is the neck. J-width with a bit more junk in the trunk (if ya dig. Jazzes always felt to thin as in from the fretboard to the back of the neck, not as in the nut width. Jazz nut width is perfect). It's super smooth, the frets are the best I've played on (and I own a MIA EBMM), the binding and blocks are beautiful, the wood looks great. It's perfectly balanced. Mmmmmmmm.

I picked up a Nikon D5100 with the 18-55 VR lens and 55-200 lens with bag, filters, and everything else for $800 on ebay through Cameta camera. I love it.

Ernie Hybrid Slinkies. I want to throw some flats on there tho.What strings are you using?
Nice dude!!
I don't like that the Skylines use the MK-1 preamp for the AJ. I've never liked those. I wish they'd use the US electronics.
I've thought about adding a third pickup to me Decade...very cool dude!
)
Yeah I remember seeing it for sale early last year and being mad that I didn't get it, and then while searching for basses with Chi's in it a few weeks ago I came across that same bass and it was still for sale! It was pretty much a no-brainer. I've always wanted a bass with Chi's, I've always wanted a Lakland, and I've always wanted a bass that isn't yet-another-double-cutaway-Fender-lookalike.
Having that middle pickup is really nice. The amount of options I have at my disposal is just crazy. My two go-to tones on the bass is middle dimed for pick and bridge+neck (with the neck volume turned slightly off to open up the tone a bit, and the bridge dimed. Diming both, kinda like in a J bass, takes out the bite). It has so much warmth, sometimes it feels like my Streamliner 900 has a tube power section!

I have Stainless Steel Lo-Riders (Medium) on my USA Joe Osborn (and my Stingray Slo Special and Sterling). Best strings I've ever used. I love the way they feel and sound and I simply cannot seem to break one no matter how hard I try. They really set-up nice for some reason too. I think I'll put a set on my USA Glaub. I really don't like the feel of Lakland's stock strings.
Lakland strings are rebranded D'Addarios, right? If not, they use the same color scheme on the balls.
No. Lakland strings are made by GHS.
The strings that are coming with Lakland Skyline basses are D'Addario.
This is another example of how this long thread is confusing. The opening post in thread #60 was Greg saying exactly what I just said.
You have to admit that you have a problem before you can get help...
Thanks Marcel, I did not see the reply. I'll be sure to ask the same question again within a week.![]()
