Wow...new thread already!

Dont have too much time to post but am in the hotel lobby waiting for my (hopefully to arrive soon) baggage...somehow i went direct but my bag has been all over the midsouth....and then some....had to cancel one meeting today and if it does not arrive tonight tomorrow will be a lost day....and lost $$$$$ (lots if it)

Anyways
...got MMs in my JO5CS and my 5507...really like them....alot...i say they purr more than growl....

Yes it's true, the Th 500 plus 2 1x12s sounded pretty great. We were in a fairly large space, rectangular with tall ceilings, with about 200 people, and the amp sounded loud (and bad ass). I had the bass plugged in to the PA via a DI, but we didn't need it. I had the volume at about 9-10 o'clock.

This is super useful - thanks! I will look into these. I only ever used EB strings on a Stingray I had for a short time, and they were great on that. Do you find that these Cobalts wear down the frets?

They "like" any bass, I've had them a number of different basses, including non-Laklands and as I said they really open up the instrument - I even use them on a Gibson Custom LP. They add a level of brightness you can't find with nickels, closer to steels, but with a smoother feel closer to nickels - almost like a hybrid of the two taking the best qualities from each. They do have slightly more tension than nickels at first, but relax within a week or so without loosing any perceived brightness or zing. I've been using them since they came out and have also found that they last a very long time, a little more upfront in cost, but pay for themselves in fewer string changes. And they don't need any "breaking in" period - restring, tune and you're ready to go. Next day, slight tuning, if any and play on.

I modded a Squier VM P with Babicz bridge,Hipshot tuners,Nordstrand pickups,did my own fret level and dressing and today my teacher played it and feel in love and took his Lakland 55-01 w/ Nordstrand big singles off the wall and handed it to me in trade.I am now a happy Lakland owner.
