30 seconds into soundcheck last night, I was completely converted into a Lakland man. I couldn't stop smiling throughout the entire gig. I am completely in love with this bass and am already seriously considering getting rid of my trusty old Warwick Thumb 5 BO (which I've been playing exclusively for the past 12 years) in favor of another 55-02. It is by far the best playing and sounding bass I've ever had in my hands. Lakland for life!

Oh, and I'll post some pics as soon as I get a chance to take some :)

took THAT long huh???? hmmm....a new record....for the long time it took :)

seriously - glad you love it!

Since you already have a sweet 55-02...save up for a US model or something different...there is a WHOLE world of Lakland for you to explore!

...and if you do not see something you like, ASK.....they are pretty open to "reasonable requests"....

Spent a couple hours with Carl (aka Chicago Bass Doctor) at Lakland HQ with my 3 Lakies, and let me tell you, the Lakland kool-aid has never tasted sweeter.
Ha! Carl's masterful work will have that effect. I love playing mine that much more when he gets done with'em.

Here are mine together. I've definitely become a die-hard Lakland man.

I love it. I have been satisfied with it so far. It does have a little bit of a different character than the LH3, but it's pleasant to me. I may experiment with different strings at some point, but I'm happy with it. I need to fine-tune the setup slightly and strobe it out again, but it plays very well as is. I'd like to play a 5502/94 fretless for a fun comparison, but the AJ5 hasn't left me wanting for anything. I'm sold.

In all honesty, it was immediately after the first note that I played when I fell in love. I just didn't want to come off as some sort of teenage fanboy :) Thanks for the warm welcome! Pretty sure I'll be around here quite a bit from now on!
