Grindy low end authority = CHIbuckers for sure!
Carl told me he could build "one off" CHi-buckers but building production level quantities in the issue....I say go with dual CHI-buckers with dual switches..... and DO NOT forget the passive tone knob (I had Carl wire mine so it also enhances in active mode as well...)
sounds like a killer bass! would love one like you new one myself....but I will not copy (yet!)![]()

Excellent! I like when the flaming on the ash Skyline bodies shows through the sunburst finish. Glad you're loving it.New pic of the Lakland...you can see some of the flame in this one. Now that I've spent some time with it, I really love it. I don't think I could have done any better.

the Fralin just sits in a mix excellently.
Thanks! I'm thrilled with it...now I can't wait to get a U.S. made one.
At Greg C.: Thanks! It sounds great with the VB-2...I had been wanting one for a while when an awesome deal came up, so I snagged it. Probably will eventually try different tubes, but it sounds clear, powerful, punchy, and just amazing all around. I like the sound of the Lollar in my other bass better on its own, but the Fralin just sits in a mix excellently.

Hey guys! I'm a new Lakland owner (just got my Skyline 55-02 today!) and I just had a quick question that perhaps someone could provide me with a little insight. I just noticed its a Korean made 55-02 but it has the LH3 electronics. I had no idea any of the Korean 55-02s had the LH3 electronics package. Is this common? Its like the best of both worlds! I've gotta say, I'm extremely pleased thus far. Can't wait to plug her in at tonight's gig and rip on her for a couple hours!
They switched to the LH-3 system sometime in 2006, IIRC. Skyline production switched to Indonesia (not by Lakland's choice, the Korean factory shut down) in the second half of '08. FWIW, I've owned one Indo Skyline and found it to be the equal, on average, of the three Korean Skylines I've owned.Hey guys!
