A 44-64 with bound and blocked Jazz taper necks and matching headstock used to be referred to as the Duck Dunn signature. I have an Oly White one, that I absolutely love.
Depending on the age of this one, its probably a Duck Dunn. Is this a Skyline or US, and what's the serial number?
Now the "empty" battery box is a bit of an enigma. It could mean that your bass was a prototype, or it also could mean it was made custom for somebody that way. Seriously, Ben Kenny of Incubus has his Laklands made with an empty battery box and he uses them as pick holders.
It is a Skyline and the Serial number on the headstock is 081228559
It has a hang tag saying it was plek'd in 2010
Brian G from Lakland left this reply when I inquired:
It's a 44-64, but with a neck that we use on our model called the Decade. We've put together one or two of those as a courtesy to a few dealers / artists. Surprised to see one show up on Ebay, as we've only made one or two.
I don't know what that battery box is on there. It's not an active model - at least it wouldn't have been when it left the shop.
HOLDSG Thanks for your help in identifying my new purchase....I'm diggin it!!
