Love the Gibson finishes...

hmmmm..he would have to "custom build" the CHI-bucker as they are no longer in production....why not go Double CHI-humbuckers? I have one of the few 55-07s and really like it!

although a P would sound great as well...I agree on the symmetry thing!

Yeah I don't know. Still working on this. He's not even sure if he could fit a P in a larger case.
I had heard rumors that they stopped making the chi humbucker, and I guess this coming from you confirms it. He didn't really seem to flinch when I brought up the chi buckers though.
I'm really want to be workable, but I really want something different from the single coil mm+j setup. That thing at least in my hands screams jazzy chording goodness, and I'm really looking for something with some slightly grindy low end authority. I could go PJ but was looking to be maybe a little less conventional.

Grindy low end authority = CHIbuckers for sure!

Carl told me he could build "one off" CHi-buckers but building production level quantities in the issue....I say go with dual CHI-buckers with dual switches..... and DO NOT forget the passive tone knob (I had Carl wire mine so it also enhances in active mode as well...)

sounds like a killer bass! would love one like you new one myself....but I will not copy (yet!) :D ;)
