Guys, I need your help. I just received my second 55-02 yesterday, a 2010 Deluxe Cherry Sunburst, and the first thing I noticed when I pulled it out of the case is the neck. I'm afraid it may be twisted. I just want to know if this can be fixed with a few turns of the truss rod, or if this thing is going to need a new neck. Needless to say, I'm quite bummed out and very frustrated. Hopefully you can see what I'm talking about in these pictures:

+1. It's always hard to tell from pictures (for me, at least), 'cause angles can be deceiving. But consult with the experts on this. Good luck!
+1 . You may well be pleasantly surprised at what happens, based on my recent experience. Probably the best customer service experience ever, and my circumstances were very similar to yours. The bass was 2nd hand and there was no obligation on them to help me at all (no warranty).
If you are getting buzzing, give it a good setup. If the setup does nothing for the buzzing or improving the action then you will most likely need a new neck. It's hard to judge from the pics, but it looks SEVERELY twisted. If you do call Lakland, ask if they have any NOS or B Stock necks. It will save you a good bit of money and, at least in my case, I got a flawless PLEK'd neck. If you can do the install it will be even cheaper because you don't have to ship the bass/body and pay them to do it.

Seriously, there is some mystic about early Laklands, as if they had more secret sauce in their manufacturing than later models that were more assembly line. I guess its somewhat like early Fenders, early Gibsons, early whatever. I don't always get it, but I understand how some folks believe that before CNC machines, plek machines, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and real human beings made stuff, somehow those instruments are superior. Again, not my opinion, just sharing what I have heard from others.
