Tonsil was removed on march 7 (my birthday...) and got the call 3 days later confirming it was cancer. because of where it is the tonsil touches lots of things around your throat area so the radiation for 33 days with chemo mixed in as an added "we didn't see it anywhere else besides the throat area but we do this as a precaution". fast forward to now and ytreatments are ending... never thought i would see the other end but i am convinced that positive attitude helps dramaically in dealing with the issue. My doctors all said i should lose 20-25% of my body weight. Started out about 206... so far i have lost about 6 pounds as i have just refused to give in. Plus if you stop eating, chewing and swallowing atrophies very quickly and that will slow down recovery time dramatically... which is why Sloane will not do feeding tubes as most others do..But Slaone is one of only several places that set the protocal so I ma sure they will change in the next few years.

2 observations from this ordeal as well as learning who your friends really are.....

Lots more well wishers and nice guys on TB than i expected as so many threats seem to bring out the ass hole side in some people. and believe or not simple stuff like that helps you get though each day...
How quickly leg muscles can atrophy if you become bed ridden for any period time. I am not bed ridden but I do try rest in a reclyner most of the time i am not being treated, examined....etc and I can physically see a huige differnce in my legs and arms already.

2 more days .....wish me luck

I'm not going to try to top these two stories, because they are all true and all heartfelt, and all deserving of respect.

Just trust me when I say that cancer's got to go.

1 week from tomorrow my family departs on a 2-week vacation to Orlando and Western Carribean cruise. the cruise we wanted to take last year but had to cancel due to Deanna's health. this year, we're going no matter what, and Deanna's so much stronger. But its a ticking time bomb inside her, with no cure or positive prognosis. So we're going to literally party like its 1999 on this one. CARPE DEIM indeed!

Oh, and Laklands rock.

good luck with your situation.. Party hearty as they say. make each day as enjoyable as they can be. they may not always be great but if you can't be the direct cause then there will be x number of better days than there was before.
I was never an overly positive spin type of person. Pretty much life is what it is and just deal with it. A very business like attitude had invaded my personality from 30+ years of corporate america. This ordeal has certainly made me rethink aspects of life and what makes ME happy. Assuming I come out the other side fully cured then i will look at this as a very painful wake up call but maybe it will make the next 20-30 years better than they would have been.

I have lots of TB love and mojo to share your way. Have great vacation. Disney magic = the only place/situation where someone places reaches into your pocket and takes lots of yor money and you are smiling all the time....
Actually thinking about a short trip to orlando with my youngest , just turned 14, and do all the parks and stuff , and probably just the 2 of us as my wife really dislikes Disney and my other 2 are college/grad school age and the only thing they really want from me is my money, as least it appears that way....

MOJO!!!!

CB basses also happens to be in the area and i have been trying to try one out in person for a few years

I was not this scared the entire time that I was deployed to the mid-East...I'm not sure why I am posting this here, it's therapeutic I guess. Love your wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, husband, whatever you have like there is no tomorrow. Embrace every moment. My beautiful Stefanie is going to live and I can't stop crying because I am so happy.

Texan, sorry to hear about your wife's health issues, but very glad that they were able to do a successful surgery and get it all. Cherish every moment, always. Enjoy the happiness; you both deserve it.

You're going to love this vacation. Word to the wise - bring clothes for heat for when you're outside, but carry a jacket or a sweater for the indoors stuff. We keep buildings as cold as meat lockers here in Orlando. If you have time while you're in town, give me a shout and maybe we can say hi in person. I can introduced you to a local hidden treasure or two if you're up for it. :D

Prayers and thoughts to all 3 of you and or your family members fighting the "C" word.
It seems to hit every family in one shape or form now days. :( :( :(
I know my Son had it at a young age of 2.5 yrs old...and mom in law was lost to it.
Seems no family is untouched by. :(
Again many thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery on the road to remission!!

This is in regard to your post on Black Barts Scheff for sale thread.
About bass names...
I wanted to show ya the grain/quilting that dubbed this US Scheff " The Hands of God ". :) ( named along the way by someone else )

Did not want to post the pic on Brian's thread and have him beat me upside da head with a black bass....hahaha!!

You can see in the quilting about mid bass, the "hands" laying across the bass coming in on both sides....Looks like fingers reaching into the bass.
Very unique grain in the wood and quilting for sure.

Now that is a good looking bass... Wow. As far as names are concerned both you and kinetic are way ahead of me, I mean I call the Ice Blue JO "Allison" because it was originally owned by Ian Allison...

I just put some on my 44-64... Playing by myself I thought "meh, they're flats" playing with a group however, I found they sat in a mix like I haven't heard others do... Very nice, very smooth... Thumpy and round but not dull or bitey like chromes.
