We need a club for Lakland HoBo gigbag seekers.

Mine fits (snugly but reasonably) in a Mono Vertigo.
Supposedly there's a Levy's that fits. And there's a Warwick Rockbag for their hollowbody that I've been curious to try but suspect it will not fit.

Carl Pedigo suggested to me to use a double gigbag and just keep the one bass in it.

Ha, yeah this seems to be a much-asked question. I had an Access bag that might work but I sold it along with a Yamaha hollowbody I sold last week after buying the Lakie. Maybe I should try to buy the bag back.

I like the idea of this because I am a Hofner fan but I don't like the execution. I do appreciate keeping the headstock as that is something that I would have liked more on the full scale HB but there is just something weird about the proportions.

yeah same here. These do nothing for me. I will stick with the original US HB.

Looks a little goofy to me - headstock is disproportionately large to my eyes. :hmm: GAS averted on this model!

I love hardcases, but man I have a ton of them. I swear my girlfriend wouldn't even complain about my basses, except for the fact that I have a hardcase for every single one that just take up storage space...

In other news, I am loving the new Glaub. The 1.75 nut took me a minute to get used to, but its every bit as comfortable as the JO necks now. I certainly will not use this bass for everything, but what it does, it does very well.

I finally took more pics of my sonic blue US BG refin!

So, looking at the pictures, you can see the things that were slightly disappointing with the refin from Marty Bell.

-The logo is crooked (and it's happened on other Lakland refins of his..)
-There are spots where it looks like he wiped off/sanded off excess paint. I tried to picture all of those.
-There was also a tape goop spot on the bass when it showed up

Otherwise, my experience with Marty was GREAT. Super fast, really nice guy. Excellent communication. I prefer my experience with Marty over mine with Pat, and therefore I'll go with Marty whenever I do a refin. The time being faster and price being lower plays into this as well, and it's pretty convenient that I like Marty better than Pat with these factors included.

Pat's refin FEELS better, the product he uses is more comfortable. But his communication was bad, he took way longer than he estimated (and I had to be the one knocking on his door, seeing what was going on) and the color was a little different than he said it would be. I think these factors have a lot to do with the volume that his shop deals with. It's a lot of stress and pressure to get everything perfect all the time and a lot to keep in contact with EVERY customer...still, when my bass is 2 weeks late past the 6 week mark, I wanna know what's going on.

Marty also did the olympic white HB refin for me. I noticed zero flaws with that refin, and he also undercharged me...that was nice!

If it were me I would send that neck back to have the logo placed correctly. I am surprised he let that ship to you that way.

I'd have to buy another logo from Lakland and pay for shipping...it also bothers me but I'm not sure how bad it bothers me. Like, is it worth not having the bass for another 2 weeks and paying $60 or so to have the logo placed correctly?

Marty is the one that did the shoddy work. It should be on his dime. I'd check the agreement with him for fine print. He is in the wrong here.

I'm with Johnny and Tex on this one. I acquired my bass through trade and when I opened the case, the logo was the first thing that I noticed. The bass is so great I am able to overlook it a bit, but it really makes me want to refin it. I talked to Marty on the phone and he is very friendly and helpful, knows a ton about colors and the like. However, if I were to send it to him for a refin, I would require that the logo was put on correctly.
