So, got a trade offer including a darkstar pickup (on it's own, not installed) and I'm thinking about putting it in the DS BG that I have. So it would be a DS P/J essentially... Yay/nay? Am I mad?!

Seems perfectly reasonable to me, but some might say that I'm mad..

But.. Would it be much different sonically than your dual DS JO?

Also, and I could be wrong, but I think one DS "should" be made with reverse polarity/reverse winding if intended to be paired.

Plus also too, depends on which item you're giving up for that trade. :ninja:

You don't wanna know :/ lets just say it almost went to France, and now it's not. Whew! Close call

Just fell back in love with my Skyline 44-60 LE Chi, Inca Silver. When I had her set up recently, we put TI flats on. Not the right strings. Yesterday I switched those out for GHS Pressurewounds...and this bass came alive!! Gave her a good workout tonight to be sure. Pure sweetness.

Now, what the heck am I gonna sell to thin the herd? It's becoming a stampede! And the War Department is on alert... :rollno:

Pressurewounds are fantastic strings on J basses.

Looks like you have a fender or 2 or 8 to thin the herd! :D

1) I've always wanted a very early Lakland.
2) I love the way old nitro ages, cracks etc and always thought how sad that none of my Lakies would ever look like a worn out 60s Fender.
3) 11 is one of my lucky numbers
4) Old Barts are my favorite flavor of 44/55-94 pups.
5) Always wanted to know what a (legendary) McFarland Lakland neck felt like.

Well... meet my latest, the 11th Lakland built :ImageUploadedByTalkBass1373995685.352250.jpgImageUploadedByTalkBass1373995700.867824.jpg

She will get a thorough testing with the band later today. Love the patina on the body!!

Ran across this photo on the Raleigh News & Observer website from a July 5 gig. Nice shot of the 2004 Lakland Skyline hollowbody (first year of production) that I picked up on TB a couple of months ago and never will part with. (The bass is nicer-looking than the shorts, which we virtually never wear to gigs. )
