I bought some Rosewood knobs for the 55-01 from CVSurg in the accessories classifieds...I love them!

Once I calm down I may even post on the Bass Central forum about my experience. Frankly I keep reading the last email from them and fuming. Here is the opening line (in all CAPS and spelling exactly as sent...)
"CHRIS, I WENT OVER THAT LAKLAND BY HAND AND THOUGH THAT IT WAS SET UP FALWLESSLY."
My call with the tech also spent more time with him telling me how they went over everything before they shipped. They get to the "sorry you have concerns" at the very end. Felt like I was on the defensive the whole time. They never even mentioned I could return it. In fact, they seemed more concerned to avoid that even though they have a policy that allows it within 48 hours. Like I said, I would rather deal with Guitar Center. Too bad Sweetwater didn't have this bass. I love dealing with them!
Sorry for more venting...just letting off steam and thankful it is the weekend and my friends at Lakland have my back!
I have had several similar experiences there, during which I was made to feel as though they were doing me a favor, while I spent many $K. Whatever![]()

Bought a few basses from BC a couple of years ago, two off the shelf and one custom, but never again after the custom order.
Mike Arango at Sweetwater is awesome!
I just use MF for the special deals on recording gear and accessories. But they've always treated me well and took care of any issues with faulty equipment. And FYI GC and MF are sister companies.
Yes.
I had no idea that Lakland would take orders directly from consumers.

This is a great example of how the pick guard can totally change the perceived color of the paint. That's candy apple red like they use on the Duck Dunns, correct?
This is Markus' Glaub. It is CAR, and I believe they are Fralin pups?
