I have, since on my former 55 Dual J CS passive there was no shielding whatsover. I gather they intended to make it be like the oldest bass designs, but with those highly explosive neodimum pickups... Jeez, unless both those pickups were set at the same volume, it was a bang-and-buzz machine.

I had an issue at one instance when I was preparing for a gig in the course of a month on a LOG LE PJ5, but when we got to the soundcheck onstage, I could only stand side to the audience to stop the noise. So then I took th 55-94 and it was dead quiet - on the side of noise/
Yup, I really dug that one, too. As JJ said, they're called Bardens. I'd never heard of them before, and haven't really seen any TBers using them. Perhaps undiscovered gems...

What do y'all think about Jeannie's pickguards? Looking at some for my 55-02. Have a natural finish with rosewood fretboard - was thinking about going with a tort cover.

Jeannie's can make pickguards with no holes drilled for mounting screws, then you can easily use double sided tape to mount it. Their product is nice.
Roger at Jeannie's can be "challenging" to deal with, to be diplomatic, in my personal experience (and others have shared that experience.)
My pickguards needs are now met by Mike Quick at quickguards.com as he has been fast, friendly, responsive, and fair in all my dealings with him, and has cool pickguards as well.
After reading the post about the jammed and / or maxed truss, I went to check the rod nut on my new to me 2013 DJ5 and it's VERY tight/hard to rotate, in either direction. I'd like to lube it but the neck relief is currently perfect so I'm reluctant. If I decide to go ahead, will it be easy to get it back on after I remove the nut and drop in some oil?
Can you not put a drop around the nut and work the nut back and forth to let the oil penetrate?
Is this just the way it is with new Skylines? I am thinking as mine is new I will still send to Lakland just to ensure it is not a problem.
I probably would just put 1 or maybe 2 drops around the nut, and then stand the bass on end and let gravity and chemistry do the rest.
For those that are concerned with their new (still under warranty) Laklands, I'd imagine if you have an authorized dealer local to you, and that dealer has a qualified tech person, you might be best served if you had that tech inspect your bass and then if they break it or discover something wrong, they could coordinate repair with Lakland.
No it's not the way it is with new Skylines. Many new Skylines go out the door without issues. First I've heard of this, and I certainly wouldn't send my bass to Lakland just to see if it has a problem that is very very rare.
I assume you mean for those who haven't found this issue. The original question involved a tight truss rod and bad electronics, and the op got a request from Lakland to send it in. For example, my skyline is perfect. I wouldn't send mine in because of someone else's problem. If I were able to replicate those problems, then I would certainly call Lakland.
Just to be clear, mine is not a bona fide "issue", just a little tighter than I'd like. I want to have this puppy for a while and a seized rod can be a relationship ending experience for me 
I'll do the "add a drop of oil while the bass is standing on it's headstock and work it in" method. I have done that before with good old 3 in 1 oil and it has worked.
