Lakland Owners Group #64

Hello fellow Lakland owners I have just rejoined the ranks and I’m back big time. I just picked up a shoreline gold 55-94 and Brian from Lakland made me some pickgaurds. I had a clear and a black/white/black sandwich. I don’t have pictures up because I didn’t peel the backing and the front face thin plastic off the guards. My question what do you guys like better on shoreline gold, black or clear or bare naked?!?!?!?

Black is awesome with shoreline, but with a clear PG you can put paper cutouts underneath it and change it whenever you want,

I agree, but overbybr's pic doesn't capture the true color well. It's nearly impossible to capture it actually.

Ha, I figured I would try it. We play half step down tuning, with some drop songs, so the extra gage should help.
Oddly enough, circle k makes a 0.287 B string set

Schnikies!!!!! that is huge....would that tree trunk even vibrate!???

Have you already widened your B string nut slot? The other strings will be fine.

That is what I was thinking.....

Not yet, but I expect to have to open it up a little

I think so...speaking of the .150 I mean.

I'm back kinda. Did ya miss me?

ALWAYS miss ya Tat...moved yet or still in Sunny Florida?

Hey now. Only one of my 3 is a Lakland...

but you are still a NUT....and a bit crazy...but NOT in a bad way....Oh - BTW ...I May have something a bit "Custom" in the works... he he :ninja::hiding:

OK TB'ers, I got the new 55-60 from Bass Central and it has issues. Truss rod appears to be either maxed or at a minimum it feels like it will break if I try to turn it, and the passive electronics have a problem as well (the volumes seem to be shorting each other out). I called Bass Central (my sales guy was out, and the guy I got was not exactly concerned). He directed me to Lakland. Leo at Lakland was awesome, but based on what I told him he agreed the neck needs replaced and they can fix the electronics. So, it can be fixed, but this is a NEW bass.

The issue is this is a limited edition color. So, if I want the color I have to fix it. Else return it and get a different Lakland (like the white DJ5).

What would you do? Send it to Lakland to get it repaired or return it and get something else? Carrots?

It figures...I violated my own first rule of never buying a new guitar or bass.

have them fix it....they will do a thorough job and you will have the color you want.

Sorry for the issues....
