So... been on the prowl for a new JO in a unique color and literally every one I see for sale new or used has a maple board. It makes my crazy, anyone know whats up with that? Don't get me wrong, I like a maple boarded J bass, but not something that is supposed to be an improved 1960 Jazz.

Sounds like either a custom order...or at least a replacement neck order coming Leos way

;)

TeX... I have what I call the "perfect convert able rig"... and it is light (important for an old guy like me)

GB shuttle 12 6.0 for practice and small rooms ( soon to be Fender Shuttle? Gawd help us!)

If I need something bigger I add a DNA cab with 2 10s.. as you probably know that doubles the wattage of the amp....and the cabinet is so efficient that it dies not need a lot of volume!

I had it outdoors this weekend and had the amp barely at noon ..plenty of room to go!

I actually have no issues with my rig. I love it. The Streamliner 900 and the Tone Hammer 500 coupled with the basses in the stable give me options galore. However, the impending doom of Genz has me itching to buy another head, even though I don't need it and I've been itching for another Bergantino cab for a while. I had a Shuttlemax 9.2 with which I really only used one setting, so I sold it and bought the TH500 which is a wyld stallion. I kind want a AE410, pair of NV115's, a NV610 or an HT322 which I found locally.

I tend to buy lots of gear when I'm between gigs, go figure.

...sitting in BWI...eating supposedly "real" Maryland crab cakes....uh no.....too much fluff and not enough chunk....

The cakes at Legal Seafood in Boston have me spoiled....

Doude does the coasts....Gaithersburg yesterday and today...Redding CA tomorrow through Friday....

Worst part? Landing at OHare tonight but my flight is really early in the morning....not even going home....

Hoteling it in my home town...any of you travellers do that?

Related subject....hope to post some clips soon from this weekend....the Lakies performed wonderfully...
Too bad the bassist only did so so....

I see a paisley metal flake bass in your future.:D:bassist:

Nothing wrong with stocking up on GB gear....before the fall...

If you ever have time in Boston and are willing to take a chance on the cakes. Woodmans in Essex. Very good unusual style. They're like a hush puppie but a crab cake. My favorite thing on that menu.

So... Um, not quite what I meant, but nice bass none the less.

"This is lowend, he's a friend of ours"....

Congrats!!

Congrats, that's fantastic! Oh yes, I see more Lakies in your future.:D

Congrats!!!

Are you working for Leon Phelps? I can see your sense of bass style jiving just right with "The Ladies Man"...

Have some Courvoisier!:hyper:

Thanks guys, it has been about a 6 week interview process so its a huge relief. I have to move to a larger city (Phoenix), but hopefully I will have time to actually get out and play some music up there. Don't worry Doug, the job is not with F#@$#R...

That's about the time that it took to interview for the company that I work for. I know first hand how relieved you must be. My company won't even talk to you if your GPA was below 3.5 on your transcripts.

Savor the victory!

I definitely am... I had a grand total of 5 "interviews," so by the time the offered me the position I didn't even hesitate to accept. I am moving from a compan of about 250 people to a company that employs thousands. They are the 2nd largest employer in the state behind Wal Mart.

Just found out today that I got a big-time new Job. Huge step up and major salary increase so maybe this will happen...

:hyper: Happy for you man, I know that you had your fingers crossed - glad you made it through the gauntlet. I think a little somthin-somethin is in order to celebrate.

You had me at hush puppies...

Beautifully poetic.:crying:

Almost E.A.P.

I'll take Phoenix over al-Khobar any day! You can't get Lakies in Saudi.

Neither for this camper - I get cranky when it's over 70°F.

I'm that way with my clients - if they seem stupid, I walk away - just not worth the frustration. :D
