Just found out today that I got a big-time new Job. Huge step up and major salary increase so maybe this will happen...

Wahoooooo!

Major congrats!
Tell us more....same company or new adventure?

As long as the pay raise pays for a new Paisley Lakie ....all is good......doubt they have ever done Paisley....but I am sure they could...

Btw....remember paisley ties? Argh! I had MANY...too many....all gone now....well maybe 1 or 2 left (no hiding icon on the droid)

Oh my...always LOVE a picture of your classic pair....that is class on a carpet.

So... Um, not quite what I meant, but nice bass none the less.

Thanks guys, it has been about a 6 week interview process so its a huge relief. I have to move to a larger city (Phoenix), but hopefully I will have time to actually get out and play some music up there. Don't worry Doug, the job is not with F#@$#R...

Lol!

I know...i know...pastels and rw....

Cool about the job...again..congrats!

Phoenix is nice!

:hyper: Happy for you man, I know that you had your fingers crossed - glad you made it through the gauntlet. I think a little somthin-somethin is in order to celebrate.

You had me at hush puppies...

Almost E.A.P.

Neither for this camper - I get cranky when it's over 70°F.

I'm that way with my clients - if they seem stupid, I walk away - just not worth the frustration. :D

I agree on the sumtin sumtin...

Hmmmm.....hush puppies....some day I will make some.....yum...

Stop picking on my eanglusch......

I have too many "stupid clients".....nice when I get a smart one.....this last one seems smart....oh and my "tour guide"/main contact was really cute....that does not hurt!
But her hubby works in intelligence so (darn! Where is that hiding icon when you need it!?)

Awesome man! I typically get a watch to mark major achievements in life, but a custom Lakland would be pretty cool too.

I had a Tag Heuer a few years ago that lasted less than 1 month before I cracked the crystal. I sold it as quick as I could after that and haven't worn a watch since. I've always been rough on them, which makes me nervous because I get a Rolex from the company in a few years. I guess I'll sell it and get a custom Lakland.

I posted something in the setup forum about the E string on my Glaub rubbing on the headstock right behind the nut. I looked closer and noticed that the nut is pretty loose. I need to bring it to my luthier to have a loose volume pot looked at as well so I will probably have him replace the nut too. Has anyone else experienced this with their Laklands?

I did have a plek'd neck where the nut slot on the E was cut about 1/1000 too deep. That string buzzed like sitar. I had to use a tiny bit of epoxy to add surface and then re-file that slot. It happens.

Thanks to you and everyone else. It is with a differnt company, much larger and much more well funded. I get a pay increase and a title increase, so I am definitely a happy camper. I was actually starting to think that maybe I was shooting a little high, but it all worked out.

As for a custom ordered Lakland, I think I should probably wait until I get the damn bass I ordered in January at least...

Thank again for the kind words everyone, it has been a good day!.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, it definitely happens and I hope in no way it came across that I was not completely enamored with this bass. Without a doubt the best bass I have ever owned. I don't think there's one genre of music where this bass does not shine!
