I have my first Lakland in 2006. I have been a Lakland lover since then. After 12 Skylines ( I liked all of them but I sold them because gas or financial reasons) I finally got a US one. I traded my Valenti for a 4-94 and I could not be happier. First thing I noticed was the weight, this is the first Lakland is on the 8 pound range but the biggest difference is the resonance, I can tell this body is made of excellent wood. I still need to spend more time with it but I feel like I am going to fall in love.

My scheff 5er is supposedly on a few Eminem records!

It was originally purchased by a Detroit recording studio where Eminem did Hus early recordings.

The provenance says it was used on early Eminem recordings .

Ad such I am NOT surprised that the current Eminem bassist is using a lakland bass!

Greetings fellow loggers. My first post. Just got a 55-02 about two months ago. I was restringing with flatwound chromes and had trouble getting the B string through the hole when I was stringing through body. It would get caught where the blue winding meets the string and would not go through. It also got caught where the blue windings were just before the end of the string. It took a lot of work to get it through and I was eventually able to do it. The blue windings were roughed up a bit

My question is whether anyone else had this problem with stringing the B string on a 54-02. Could it just be the string brand? Aldo want to know if the roughing up of the windings is going to cause me trouble. Thanks.

It sounds like the through-hole may have a burr or two that are catching on the cloth. Maybe next time try running the B through the bridge frame rather than through the body.

Happens from time to time. Sometimes the windings get a bit too fat. Taking a layer or two off the windings is ok, no major issues with that. I have also heard of people crimping down the windings with pliers before installing, making them as flat as can be.
