Whoa, sweet color! What are those pickups?
I've had that problem with Chromes on another bass - '87 Peavey Dyna 5 - stringing through the bridge (Schaller roller bridge has really small hole). Sometimes Chromes have too much silk that can be trimmed off. Sometimes the actual windings are just too fat. I switched to other strings on that bass.
Try stringing through the bridge instead of through the body. I usually string flatwounds through the bridge anyway, they don't work as well through body IMO.
Norstrand that looks like 4.2 and norstrand jazz split coil, preamp is the original bartolini, sweet combination

I was suggested to contact Leo in regards to pickguards. The guys at Lakland were able to put this together for $30 plus shipping. I've used double-sided tape to keep this on hence the absence of screw-holes. Quite pleased with it, actually.

If only I'd had the foresight to know Aaron Rodgers would miss maybe the second game in his career since he became the starter.
I'm quite happy the Bears won once BOTH teams were forced to use backup QBs. Doug, not so much.
