Thank you guys, it's great to be back. I absolutely love the bass. To me, it's the quintessential Lakland. it is a joy to play.

The rig is also new: GK MB800 with a Bergantino AE212. I can't believe how great it sounded, I am very pleased. And that is saying alot, I am a bit of and amp flipper, but this one is staying for a while! :D

I used to be more of a flipper...now hoarder is more the term....although I have to say I am GAS free for the moment....

Hopefully for a while....otherwise I need to do a trade or sell.....

The bass would really have to be something special for me to get GAS now...at least that is what I keep telling myself....

Well let's just say I'm Italian and I made him an offer he couldn't refuse! :ninja:

But seriously, he is an awesome guy. He is temporarily disabled due to a stroke, I helped him ship a few big cabs. He needed the $$ and he isn't playing too much. He has some other basses that are easier for him to play in his present condition. He was very happy to see it go to a good home. Despite the fact I only own 2 basses, this one is truly a keeper!

HAHA! I think we all fall victim to GAS. I love amps and cabs and my last rig was just not cutting through the mix, so off it went. Found the whole rig on GC's used sight for an amazing price.

With the 5594 and fresh stainless rounds, it sliced through the mix in my 8-person funk band like a sawzall!

Yeah I went through various Amps and cabs.
But I found my favorite now. MESA! :bassist::hyper:
Nothing else I had before compared to the build quality and tone IMO.

Since I sold off all but one of the 13 EBMM basses I owned, and countless other brands for US Laklands.... I am guessing US Laklands have become my staple brand of Bass as well.

I see you play Lull also.
I REALLY want this olympic white Lull Tbird on ebay right now.
It has the satin finish neck and matching HS.
But I cannot justify blowing THAT kind of money again on a bass of that price point.

Beautiful find. Reminds me of a beautiful vat of hot rippling cheddar cheese...that's a compliment, I promise. Now I want Nachos. :D

Yes, my only other bass is my Lull M5. It's a keeper, too, a very special bass. Mike makes amazing instruments, his necks are truly amazing. Different from the Lakland necks with their uber-comfy flay radius, but just as nice IMHO.

I've been eying the black Lull T-Bird on GC's site, but I won't have that kind of money to blow on a bass for a while!

Isn't it a great feeling to finally find am amp you feel can compliment your playing style and the instruments we choose!? I went down the Mesa road and could not tame the dragon, they make some remarkable gear though.

I lust after those Lullbirds, too. But the necks on the (very) few Lulls I've tried haven't made me happy enough to pay the asking price. Part of the issue is that I don't care much for the really flat radius that both Lull and Sadowsky use, at least not as much as Lakies' more curved necks (still not as curved as vintage Fender necks, but you guys get where I'm coming from). Also, the fretwork on the (again, very few) Lulls I've tried has been nice, but lacked the buttery smooth feel I experience on both Lakies and Sads.

It's too bad, 'cause I think what Mike has done with those 'Birds has otherwise been really cool. Maybe I've just had bad luck so far. I'll keep on trying.:)
