My US JO is the "grab in case of fire" bass in my collection, though I love my US Glaub too. There's something about a US JO that just feels righteously luxurious!
I miss my USA Jo. I should've kept it. I love the classic look of your glaub,fwiw.
And boy did we. Best show to date. There was so much craziness, it's hard to describe. I've found my perfect amp, cab, and bass!
There is something magical about the Genz/Bergantino/Lakland combination. Nothing compares or even comes close.
if that were true why wouldn't everyone be using this set up? i'm not saying this isn't a great sounding set up but to say that nothing compares?

It's taken me a while to figure out my sound, and I really did stumble on this combination. That being said, this rig gives me the sound I want.
I'll bet that was fantastic. How did you split your signal?
True, but he's also not wrong. I've played genuine SVT 's, GK combo's, GK stacks, Aguilar heads and cabs, and various tube pre' s into power amps, all with Fenders, Musicman (Musicmen?), Warwicks, and Lakland basses. The setup I gigged last night was magic.

The stock electronics are perfectly usable. They have, to my ears, a very modern, HiFi sound. I wound up upgrading to the 918NTMB and US MK5CB's because I got a smoking deal on the components. I would have been happy not doing the upgrade. I was able to get just about any tone out of the stock electronics. The sound from the upgrade is that classic thick Bart sound.
Some people characterize the stock sound as harsh and shrill and depending on your amp and eq, I can certainly see that. Keep your amp settings where they are, just set the the bass eq flat and adjust to taste. If that doesn't tickle your fancy, then consider the upgrade.
I went through the same journey.
IMO, the Genz/Bergantino/Lakland combo almost gives you a 3 dimensional sound. It really envelops you.
