Great idea!

I am finding some love for my non pre amped basses as well....

I'm saving up to get one as a fraternal twin to my 55-60. After 20 years of modern hi-fi basses, I'm now going back to the traditional P and J basses, albeit 5-string versions of each.

PBG had a ice blue metallic USA Joe Osborne w/ narrow chi's and the stack knob control lay out that called my name... loudly and repeatedly... alas, someone had more $$$ than I did at the time and it went home with him, but I STILL remember how that bass sounded and felt...

I fall into the modern=scooped with sizzling highs school and that was definitely not scooped or sizzling. It was thick and syrupy... throaty, tons of bottom, and present, but mellow highs... But everyone does have a different sound in their head...

Like the Neo Punch's versus the Vintage P pickups... When I heard the Neo Punch I described it as the P bass for people that don't like P basses... it was... just "more"... If the CS4's are like that I will definitely give them a shot.

I actually considered the no guard sting style, but ended up going with a black guard.. I love how the shape of the 50's PG works with the pickup cover.

I say leave it neked.....it looks sooooo nice!

Got my first US Lakland BACK today! After selling it for...who knows why, like a year ago. Pff. Glad it's back!

It arrived in the most CRAZY BOX EVER. As in, not a cardboard box, but the guy I sold it to made a coffin out of plywood for the dang bass to ship in! WOW!

So I get the thing...and decide that I can't throw it away. So my business partner and I turned it into a coffee table for our shop! Woo hoo!

Now this is what I call COOL! Pics!

i wonder if i could get this bass just with crosses for the fret markers...i also wonder if i would have to take out a second mortgage to afford it.

Lol....that would be funny....I KNOW JP and Bo are working on potential custom inlays but I m not sure they are ready yet....the process is complicated....

The shapes are laser cut and then "filled" with a liquid that resembles maple.....or mother of Pearl etc


I would love to get a bass with just a cross At the 12th fret....

I'm really surprised that they are doing the Geezer as a US model. I would think they would sell way more as a Skyline.

Why pay custom prices for someone else's specs?

The fret markers etc are too expensive yet to do as a skyline....

Looks like I might have purchased my first Lakeland- the 55 01 deluxe in the classifieds. This will also be my first 35" scale fiver. Any thoughts or comments for a Lakie newbie?

My US JO is the "grab in case of fire" bass in my collection, though I love my US Glaub too. There's something about a US JO that just feels righteously luxurious!

this is the prototype they showed at NAMM, just looks like the R-in-circle registered mark. If it's anything else other than that, as Doug said, Markus would be the only one, since its his photoshop work being displayed there.
