Oh my! Just watched a YouTube vid of Bill Dickens playing a custom 55-94, looks like it had a Buckeye Burl top, two LH3 MM PUPS, and two ramps. He talked about it briefly. Beautiful bass sonically and aestheticly.

How did you get a roasted neck on a 5502?
I notice there's no name on the headstock...
That's awesome
That is beautiful and he is terrin it up!
I am also interested in body thicknesses for the standard -01 -02 line so anyone with one of those (Korean and Indonesian) I would be interested in knowing specs there. Heck....I am not even positive that a USA -94 is 1.625" thick or 1.75". I know thats the case for the -64 and -60 as they were supposed to be vintage spec'd. So I guess beyond that specific Glaub info I am happy to get any and all body thickness measurements from everyone here. (Note that this is body thickness not width at the nut. I know the measurements sound similar)
I've been playing for decades, but I bought my first digital calipers a few months ago. I go around measuring everything so I'll participate-
Subject is my Glaub/44-64, Sunburst, maple neck. Neck has a full shiny gloss finish. Decal on the back of the headstock says made in Indonesia, and the serial number begins with 10, which I think means it's a 2010.
Body thickness is 1.625 -
The pickup by the bridge is a synth controller. I was also surprised by his tone. I don't know what kind of strings those are. What is that Mute/ piezio thing he has just above the bridge. Also, how to get such slap tone out of tapewounds
Probably just black coated strings… not tape wounds. Doesn't DR have black coated ones, as well as all the other colors they offer? The pickup by the bridge is a synth controller. I was also surprised by his tone. I don't know what kind of strings those are.
DR Black Beauties are black coated SS strings with a round core.Probably just black coated strings… not tape wounds. Doesn't DR have black coated ones, as well as all the other colors they offer?
Those are black tapewounds, I think. Just based on his tone in the first section.
