Lakland Owners Group #69

Thanks @basspraiser, I can live with those specs. The nut is 2 mm narrower than on my Reverend, but still has 19mm string spacing at the bridge.

Man, I need to get rid of the GAS here. The seller wants $1175 including the case and 2 extra pickguards.

I would be hard pressed to turn that away ;) what's the quote? “Nothing is more beautiful than a guitar, except, possibly, two" - I would amend that to "several" :)

Any 55-60 owners here? I'm looking at one in the classifieds, never played one in person but I remember my DJ4 was amazing. I'm basically looking for Pro's and Cons because it would put me over my bass limit.

Owned and sold a 55-60. Great bass and great tone, but I really lean to the DJs.. got 2 besides my 55-63. IMHO they sound pretty close to my USA 55-63 which was I believe Lakland's 1st Jazz bass!!! But as stated by @lomo "better details/fretwork on USA models.....by a wide margin IME." and IMHO better neck feel on my USA. Plus Dan put Lindy Fralin's in mine. It was done just b4 Lakland was doing their own PUPs!! Its a straight killer..

My 55-63. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/lakland-owners-group-69.1056364/page-817#post-26475670

Buy once, cry once.

…or buy twice. ;)

That 5563 is sure a looker!!!

My 55-60 custom above was formerly owned by @Lovep and I wish I would have snatched up his US 55-60 custom when he sold it. He gave me a really good deal on it.

My white one (“Old Glory”) was a local buy and you’d hate me if I told you what I paid for it.

Haven’t seen used prices drop below $1k for a long time.

Yay for outdoor gigs when temps are in the 20°Fs, there’s snow, AND wind! Gotta dress for it. And my 55-14 “Sip Sip” didn’t break a sweat. Neck and tuning stayed put the entire time.

Tis a bit chilly for an outdoor gig!

How did your hands do?
