I can't speak for the line in general, but in 2017 I bought this one here: https://www.talkbass.com/threads/lakland-dj-5.1263345/page-2

The seller thought it was a 2013. I've put a few thousand live and studio hours on it since then-including two 3.5 hour, no-break shows tonight. I think in the last seven years I've gotten setup maybe twice. The neck is rock solid.

Cool, thanks guys I would be getting one from Sweetwater , when they get more in, so if there is any issues I can deal with them,I live in a area where there isn't dramatic shifts in temps or humidity ,Central Coast Ca, I've adjusted my Fbass BN5 two times in 22 years.

What do you do when it's after midnight, you're tired, and each take is getting sloppier and sloppier? You grab whatever you can find, cram it under the strings, crank up the limiter, and finish the dang thing!

There is a really early one on Reverb. The classic early one with Joe's name on the headstock (kind of wish they would have kept that). Its not super light and its not super cheap but its a fair price for what it is.

Lakland Joe Osborn Signature 44-60 #58 Late 90s - Sunburst | Reverb

Also not a Lakland but a Lakin which is built 100% to the early JO specs. I just got a Lakin precision and honestly its better than any of the Lakland Glaubs I have owned. And trust me....those are REALLY nice.

Hey there! Having owned many Laklands over the years since 2003 including US and Skylines and still currently play primarily Laklands. I can say that I had a twisted neck develop on one of mine, but it was a 55-01. This is not a Lakland issue though per se. I have seen this on MANY basses from manufacturers. I even had a US built Music Man Stingray get the same issue. Sucks to deal with, but I would NOT let that detour your thoughts on the DJ5! I still to this day play my Korean 55-01 from 2003 and it is still rock solid. Usually only have to tweak the truss rod twice a year since it gets used in a northern Indiana/Michigan/Illinois where the temps can fluctuate a lot.
