Lakland Owners Group #69

thanks for the info.....pretty sad that customer service is not any better...

I gotta say, not just "not any better" WORSE. WAY WORSE. I still got the "is it a skyline or Indonesian" (yes, that's a quote) runaround... Terse emails and then when I realized it was delivered to an old address, they shoved it back on me- it was MY problem to take up with USPS (which I did, until they said the sender had to file the claim) then when I informed them that the USPS said the item had been returned and for them to either refund my $50 or send me one of the 2 remaining like items they had up on eBay, they told me to open another investigation with USPS.

I have half a mind to remove the one remaining Jeanie's pick guard I still have on a bass (bought when Roger was alive), and send it back to them with a note of where they can put it.

on a happier note...

While perusing Bobby Vega's website this afternoon I ran across this... ignore the pimpadellic Fender on the right... the Lakland with Darkstars... OH. MY. Dog.

Sorry to hear yet another person is having issues with the new Jeanie's.

I've also had good luck with Custom Pick Guards for custom work. I don't believe they carry templates for Laklands, but do great work from tracings.

EDIT: Interesting that the url resolved to the page description - the link above is for Terrapin Guitars.

I have also had very good experience with a custom DJ5 Pickguards from Mike Quick at home

really!??? whatcha after????
Not after anything at the moment (ha ha, yeah right ask me again in 2 months) This was my original 44-60 bought about a year ago- but after some horse trading I wound up with 2 fretted (and one fretless) 44-60's... it was purely an aesthetic decision to part with this one, as I've got too many sunburst basses in the stable... This one actually has the neck I love the most (perfectly done oil treatment) and lighter overall weight, but since the other 44-60 I picked up was black and tort, this one is going to find a new home!

Well--the bass already sold. Wow! And I just sold the SS BG with a darkstar in shell pink. That puts me -3 darkstar in 2 days! :(

Crazy as it sounds, I'm just pairing down. Business has me playing very little bass :( BUT...I am going to grab up a Lull Tbird ;)
That's a great bass... I wish I'd have snagged one when I had a chance... I like the Jeff Ament model with the big body even more! Maybe one day...
