Simple, I made a few ramps.
The two below is the miniramp, Wenge with a Brass laminate layer that were sent to BassPraiser. One is for a 55-02/94 and the other is for a double humbucker. I have one made of Padauk on my 55-02. I don't think that BassPraiser ever sent pics of the ramps installed.

On my 55-01 I have a Miniramp, and last week end made a full ramp for my 55-01. This is the mini, I'll take a pic of the full ramp and update this afternoon.
And just to show off, here is my favorite knobs to date and bocote thumbrest and stuff.

Tex... See above... I posted pics of the mini ramps when installed.... Just never got a side view of the brass insert.... Which is cool and classic!

I finally had some work done on my two Laklands.
Here is Before..
Standard JO5. The Glaub has a Chisonic humbucker with a push/pull on the volume knob to split the coils.
Here is after....
I had deveral things to do in Chicago today, so I took both basses to Kevin Caton (my luthier of choice). Yes, I go all the way to Chicago, as I have no one I trust in Milwaukee with my basses.
I dropped it off at 11:15, picked them both up at 3.
I had Chi singles installed in the JO5. Sounds amazing. A great sounding bass is now better.
I was not feeling the Chi humbucker in the Glaub. I had a new pickguard cut and installed a SD SPB1 I had laying around.
Kevins work is first class. Could not be happier

It just did not sound like a P....
That simple.
Plus I am doing a recording project in November with some friends that will require a P sound.
So I figured as long as I'm taking Joe in for Chi's, might as well have the BG taken care of.

Had to share the newest addition to my growing Lakland family. 2001 US Hollowbody in Shoreline Gold.
Like new condition.
These are just not everyone's favorite model. Still, I was shocked to pick this up from eBay for less than $1200 shipped! I thought "too good to be true" and had to call Lakland to verify it's authenticity. It's original as built, according to their records.
What a great instrument. Played it out last night and it just laid down such a warm yet articulate bottom that worked great for the vintage Rock and R&B numbers. Combine that with the feel of a perfect Lakland neck, and it's definitely going to see more action.
