Lakland Owners Group #69

I just GAS'd myself. I made these and realized that I don't have the right color bass for them. I have to buy a black or purple bass now...

Those are really sharp looking!

Hi guys.
I guess I'll have to hand in my membership card. I had to sell my pretty 55-02 this evening to help pay some bills. It's been a rough year so far on the work front. I'd love to say that my Lakland-free life will be a temorary thing, but I honestly don't know what the future will bring

Really sorry to hear that man...hopes and prayers for the best.....this year has been slow for me in the business front as well ( although I cannot figure out why).

LOG numbers are permanent...so its always yours.. Just sad to see Amber north being sold!

Peace..

I'm having serious trouble...
I loaded my JO4 with Aguliar HOT J's and now I'm not happy with my 55-02 with Barts... They're just too polite... I don't know if it's the pre, the pickups, the combo, or the nature of active v passive. But I can't live like this anymore... I was the worlds biggest 55-94/02 fan, heck I was a 5 stringer bigot... Now... I'm down to 1 5 string... And pick up this JO4 98% of the time

I still love the 55 necks, and the body style is still perfect... Anybody play the 55 classic yet with the single coils?

I second what Doug says. LH3 and the newer pups will definitely get you where you need to go. The one I just sold (aka Amber North) was set up that way, and it was a whole different world than the barts.

In the 4-94 I had, I replaced the Lakland pickups with Delanos (which are also hotter) - great combo with the LH3, actually opened up the bass more. But then I discovered the Sadowsky pre combo with Delano pickups in my 4-63 (dual J).

I like the LH3, but it can be a little hi-fi on certain settings. The Sadowsky just does it for me without having to fuss around with settings during song changes. I set the bass and treble levels once then adjust the VTC depending on the needs of the song, very quick, but still versatile, YMMV of course :)

How did the pickup switching work? Were you able to keep the front/back/both like in the Bart/Laklands?

Which Delano? I have Delano Hybrid on my Clover bass, surely hotter than those of Lakland.
