Hey man!
I pulled the trigger on a 44-02 with maple board and cherry sunburst from bass central. Ships Monday!
It will be my teach bass. I've only had 5 for years and hard for beginners to follow me.
I wanted to add something with a maple board to my arsenal that could also be a great slap bass. I love that it can do mm and j tones. Might replace the stock Lakland pickups with some nordstrands. 70s wind nj and mm 4.2.
Imma gonna have to crash RR's place and check that out... I dig my 55-02 with Barts, but could easily be swayed to Nordies or the newish AggiesPlayed Robin's new bass during my last lesson with him-- Didn't get over there fast enough to play it with stock pickups, he's already swapped it out with Nordies (IIRC). Love the cherry/maple look!
That is really lovely. Outstanding to find a USA for less than the price of a new skyline! These are just not everyone's favorite model. Still, I was shocked to pick this up from eBay for less than $1200 shipped! I thought "too good to be true" and had to call Lakland to verify it's authenticity. It's original as built, according to their records.
What a great instrument. Played it out last night and it just laid down such a warm yet articulate bottom that worked great for the vintage Rock and R&B numbers. Combine that with the feel of a perfect Lakland neck, and it's definitely going to see more action.
Nordies? Did someone say Nordies?

Gorgeous felixx...reminds me of My ole' Tabby...except she had a BEM neck.....

Been meaning to post updated pics of my latest acquisition for awhile. It's a 2002 Skyline Glaub, but I recently had Pat Wilkins refinish the headstock to match the body. I also swapped out the Hipshot Licensed tuners with USAs (including a D-tuner) and did a DIY Lakland oil/wax "neck treatment" at home. With the upgrades, it's about as close to a USA Glaub as I'm going to get.

Very nice. And I like your "tribute" to Markus with your pics.
Yes, that is true! My camera and lighting aren't as good, but I tried.
I just GAS'd myself. I made these and realized that I don't have the right color bass for them. I have to buy a black or purple bass now...
