I can say that I have seen a few and played one of the basses that went to him,.....sweet players for sure!
I woke up this morning, had coffee, hooked up the GB Shuttlemax 9.2 to the Bergantino AE410, pulled out the DJ5 and put her through the paces. All she needed was a little tweak of the truss and the setup was done. I sanded the neck, oiled and waxed it, it's like silk now. The tone is exactly what is wanted, I'm usually a 60's spacing kinda guy, but this one just has that special quality. I got industious and looked through my material on hand and had enough black single ply to make a pickguard. I did the tracing and cut it out, a bit of sanding for the fit, bored the screw holes, countersunk them and slapped it on. I like the black. The pick guard is not perfect, but I've never made one before and didn't feel like using the router. It looks sexy, yet sinister.
