There are lots more options for knobs than just black and chrome.
Oh for sure. I just love the look of nice chrome knobs. Of course having natural wood knobs on the natural finish would look nice too. But shiny new chrome always gets me.

With regards to the imagery on the Lakland site. Sometimes mockups are done in lieu of a photographs for new model(s) depending on time constraints when trying to get them to market and make that information available. I believe this is where that discrepancy is coming from. As was noted many moons ago the block inlay on the 17th fret is also a bit thicker. NBD
I recall after the '09 GTG we had these guys in Dougie's bassment and we did some measurements, and the DJ's were in fact a bit different spacing than the JO's...
I'd love to hear more measurements, but it'd be nice if we could finally put the whole "DJs have 70s spacing" thing to bed- it is a pretty common misconception that gets passed along. I couldn't ever work for Sweetwater. I would never have any paycheck to bring home.

Didn't work for me, had the opposite effect, GAS is fervently encouraged
My issue is not wanting to spend the $$, I scrutinize purchases and whether or not I really "need" something. I guess it's the Ant in me.
I'm the same way, but I use gig money to buy my gear so that I don't take away from the wife and kids. There was a time though when the gig money got us through tight spots and gigging was necessity to have any extra.
Ya, but I took a lot of horribly embarrassing gigs along the way. But I promised my wife that I would do whatever it takes to take care of her and the kids, even sell a Lakland if it came down to it.
