After seeing the mockups, I'm leaning more towards the Sherwood Green.

Hey Basspraiser, 2 questions.

1 - I've heard rumors of the Short scale hollow body possibly being made in new colors. Is there any truth to this? Cause if so I'll be very excited.

2 - Strangely one of the only Laklands Ive never played is the standard 44-01. Weird right? Anyway, I have a bite on an open box model, otherwise brand new, for a very, very ridiculous price. I'm a big jazz bass guy (and I can tolerate Lakland Ps) but is the 44-01 decent enough to pick up as a "just for the hell of it" bass cause the price is so good? I mean hey, Lakland has become the only bass I'll buy, so again, why not? Haha.

PS - A Ben Kenney limited run?....omg. Just the thought of that even being brought up as a possible rumor gets my GAS going! Haha

Sorry... Haven't heard about the short scales... Let me see if I can find anything out ...

Regressing the 4401.... Definitely a great bass at a great price.... Worthy of a try and... If you have to mod it... Easy and inexpensive to do!

I emailed Brian at Lakland and received the response below. Apparently, the DJ4 is, indeed, 70s spacing, but the DJ5 is not.
