The maple is definitely the more aggressive-sounding of the two.

Counting the new one, I have three basses with the 3TSB finish; the two Laklands and my Valenti VTP5. I'd just like to have something different visually. Wouldn't a Burgundy Mist or a Shoreline Gold look great with the rosewood board?? How about Sherwood Green?? Fiesta Red??

I hear you, nice to mix things up visually. Is refinishing the Valenti an option?

No, don't want to mess with the Valenti. It's a '56 style Fender design and the finish is period correct. If I do refin one it'll be the new 55-64 in one of the colors offered by Fender at that time. Definitely one of these:

Gotcha. Hmmm, then if you want something different I would NOT go with Shoreline Gold, a little too similar visually, not quite, but in the same hue range. Same with Fiesta Red. I would lean more towards Burgundy Mist or Sherwood Green if you want it to stand out from the others.

Yep, those two are at the top of the list of possible colors.

Do you have a straight on shot of the 55-64? Might be a little tough with the one you just posted.

Here you go, not proof ready, but should give you some indication what it would look like next to your maple.

Leave the rosewood alone and refin the maple with CAR or LPB

Affinity Photo. It's still in it's infancy, just came out of beta, but is in active development with responsive developers so features are added regularly and bugs squashed.

And now back to Lakland...
After seeing the mockups, I'm leaning more towards the Sherwood Green.
