The original owner ordered it with a DiMarzio pickup which has a much more Modern tone than I prefer.

The very first back in 2002 (hence the 02 on the model number I think) had the Bartolini classic bass pickups and preamp (NTMB-L?) voiced for Lakland as I recall along with the Gotoh tuners that were changed over fairly quickly to the Hipshot Ultralites during the first year. Of course made in Korea. Lakland does some custom pickguards and they did one for my 55-02 a few years ago, but I already had a pickguard and sent it to them to make a new one. Worth checking with Leo or Brian to see what they can do.

It is very nice. The Pbass pickup cuts through a mix well, while Jazz pickup as bite. The preamp is very flexible and bright.

The magic happens when you bump up the treble a bit, then use your passive tone control to taste. I have a drop in on my ADJV and never want for more. Enjoy!

Great sounding pre. Had the DI back a number of years ago. This just has bass and treble, so no VTC. If I'm totally digging it after a while, I may have to go onboard with a battery box routed.

I meant use your tone control on your bass. Works like a charm.

I do this with my MXR M81, its the cats meow...I actually prefer this outboard pre to the Bartolini NTMB. I converted one of my active basses to passive because it sounded better in passive mode with the MXR.

Gotcha. Yeah, I played around with the outboard and it really fattens up tone. My current gig calls for a wider sound and this pre should do the trick. Played the MTD K-AG5 today since the tunes called for it. But I'm liking the Sad pre.

So, once again this happened! This 55-94 showed up at my house today.

It was such a good deal I couldn't pass it up. From what I know, the neck dates to 2009 and the body is pre Hansen. It has the original Bart pre and pups. So somewhere down the line the neck was replaced. I'm going to contact Lakland see if I can get more information. The neck is awesome and it sounds incredible! And it weighs around 8lbs. Definitely a welcome addition to the family!

however I live in Germany and can't find the products mentioned in the LOG.
