The 5507 was actually the test bed for the humbucker placement. It was initially a transparent tannish color ( not quite butterscotch).
Loved the bass... Not fond of the color.
Pat Wilkins put the laminate top on and refinished it for me.... What a master he is!

I have seen an ad of an early 2000s Lakland Bob Glaub but noticed that the tuning pegs are shorter than what usually found on US Laklands. My early 2000s JO also has the usual longer Hipshot tuners.
Any information known about this topic? Is there anything going wrong here?

Anyone else having troubles reaching the Lakland website? Can't seem to get www.lakland.com to open.
Lakland USA Direct seems to be working but I couldn't get into that last night either. Maybe my wife has figured out how to block access to their IP address on our router so I can't buy any more!

Just checked, works fine for me. Maybe if you clear the cache? Sometimes that may be the reason.

Works fine for me, too.
This just supports my theory that my wife has somehow blocked their website.
I just got on...I guess I'm happy my wife doesn't know how to block sites....
Current 44-64’s use long shafts. Hipshot ultralites and similar are non-standard.
I have seen other 44-64's from those years with the long shafts. Actually all US Laklands I have seen so far have the standard tuners with the long shafts.
In the attached picture at my post, they seem to be the same tuners but with shorter shaft. In fact they seem like recent replacement Hipshot tuners.
Anyone seen another Lakland with such tuners?

Yes ..I believe any model that had the humbuckers have a coil tap switch.

How could anyone be satisfied with just one Lakland?
My trio - Trusty 55-02 on the left and my newest Nordstrand-ized 55-01 with big singles and preamp upgrade bought from a TB-er. The Inca silver finish never fails to get my 3 year old all excited!

I just talked to Lakland, they no longer make the Chi-Sonic humbucker.
Is an onboard preamp overkill with the chi-sonics?
