Here it is. From what I can determine it is a 2009 USA Joe Osborne (44-60) in Shoreline gold with a matching headstock and the optional Chi-Sonic pickups. The condition is "as new" in my opinion. The case that came with it is a G & G Fender case instead of a Lakland case, but it fits fine. I love the neck and the tone through my SVT. It reeeeeally plays sweet!

Being as I live in Pittsburgh, I want to eventually pick up a blackguard for it...(Go Steelers!)
I had very similar bass and can recommend pearloid pickguard

I do like these older golds, my Shoreline 44-94 is the newer (2017), slightly more muted vintage colour they've opted for recently. I spoke to Joe about it at NAMM and he mentioned it was very much a choice, to try and capture that old school Fender vibe, I love it. I love both haha.
Personally I'd stick with a vintage/mint pick guard, black would work fine though.

Hey guys. Inposted about my Lakin here and in another thread. It's a prototype I got from Dan. My son turned 16 yesterday so I took him on his first lesson and he wrecked the front end of my car. No lie. So I have to sell the Lakin I just got. I am going to see if anyone here is interested before formally posting. It's a sunburst Glaub with a custom WD pickup. Correct vintage bevel and everything. 65 reissue precision pickup. Comes with the factory correct red Lakin gigbag. I will roll a nice deal for someone in this thread. It's totally USA lakland quality. I have played a ton of USA laklands.

Probably my mistake for not spending more time in empty lots before hitting the road. Didnt turn the wheel far enough and then freaked and hit the gas vs break. Right off the road and into a small ditch. Not an issue to get out of but it wrecked my entire front bumper. Life lessons. People are more important than things.
Lakeland string question....
I have a stock 5502 Deluxe, 2nd owner, and I'm looking for new strings. This is the first string change since acquiring the bass I typically use D'Addario XL light round wound nickle in all my basses, but I had a set of Dunlop mediums so I thought I would try those -- good tone but made playing harder. Then I thought I'd try the D'Addario extra lights -- playing is easy but the tone is not so great. So now thinking about going to my standard D'Addario XL lights unless someone thinks I should try something else.
I know string selection is very subjective, but thought I would reach out to you other Lakland owners for your input. Thanks.

I just replaced XL 45-100's with Galli strings 40-100 and really like them - almost like TI Jazz rounds, but beefier.
Nice strings made in Italy. I had never heard off them before.

I used TI strings for years. I went to DR Sunbeams for awhile but settled on GHS Boomers being my favorite string choice. I usually use a pretty light gauge. .100 or slightly lower. I got that preference from playing Jazz Rounds for so many years. Can't stomach the TI price anymore.
I actually really like the Lakland strings. And I can't argue with the price.
...of course, the price assumes you make it past several beautiful featured basses to get to the strings.

I believe the Lakland strings are GHS Boomers or close to them. The rounds that is. I believe the flats might be GHS flats as well.
I use either XL170 nickels or the Sunbeam 45-100 set on my 4-94 and they both work well for me. On this bass, I have a slight preference for the XL. I have a Drop-D tuner and the 100 handles the low D just fine, with still good feel.
Awesome looking bass, congrats! Bet it sounds killer through an SVT
That's the great thing about TI's...you only have to buy them once - they last forever.
