Really happened to me. Lost a '97-98 Warwick Corvette 6 and EB MM 5 Fretless Out Of the back of my SUV after a gig in my driveway... I took my amp in first and left the lift gate open... stopped long enough to tell my wife how the gig went, and relieve my bladder go to grab my basses and poof they were gone. Undercover Cases double bag too... that hurt almost as much as losing the basses!I'm not much for blue basses, @Fred312b, but that is a looker! Nice score! The birdseye is crazy!
I, myself, had a horrible nightmare last night that someone stole both of mine! I had them cased in a double gig bag after a gig and I couldn't find them when it came time to load out. I found the empty case but the basses were gone! I woke up to a combination of sadness and anger. I'd never felt such loss over a bass but it was palpable!
Fortunately, they're still here and I've calmed myself (the coffee helped) but I think I may have bonded with them.

Which makes me ask: how do you guys insure your gear? Homeowners insurance is an option. But, I don't think that would cover off premises theft or damage.

It actually does. That is how I do mine. It's an up charge but still very affordable
It doesn't.
I have a special " personal articles policy" for all of the instruments in the house...jewelry...collectibles etc.

Went to one of the largest music stores in Japan last night...no Laklands or ESPs are all!
Actually let than 10 basses total from what I could see. I saw some G&Ls Hoffners and Fenders.
I asked one of the sales staff about Lakland or ESP....he acted like he never heard of them... Oh well.
Very nice selection of acoustic guitars (way larger than I've ever seen in the states!)... Also a large selection of Fender custom shop instruments.
They seemed to cater to the high end guitar players and collectors.
Many instruments were in the 5 figures ( USD)
Staff was very attentive and polite.. Very much nicer than GC!
The store was 6-7 stories.
They also sold nicer audio equipment...CDs and vinyl ( yes vinyl!)

For Skylines:
The real only difference is the quilted top on the "deluxe" models.
The electronics are the same....the necks are the same, etc.

A 2016 55-02 Standard with maple fretboard.
This will be my first 35" scale, and my first maple fretboard.

Hopefully you'll hear the difference maple fretboards make. I notice it most when playing higher up the neck. It seems like the notes stand out more to my ear: more volume and cut. And, the 35" scale makes for a better B and E for sure!
