Hello. I'm Jamvan and I have a problem. #3 in the house. 2008 Skyline DJ-4 in translucent white with a creamy sea foam center. Local seller. How could I not?!

That's a Lee Carter bass if memory serves me. He did that one along with 3 others...all variations of pastel or sparkle.

yes - I THOUGHT it was a Carter special but could not remember for sure.

I picked up one as well. 434 bucks off the price! Looking forward to it as well, this will be my first Lakland.

I have to give a shoutout to Dan over at Sweetwater for setting me up with this, as always, Sweetwater never lets me down. Fantastic company to deal with.

With regards to the bass, my god I love this thing. I did need to raise the strings a bit as there was some fret buzz and I will do a formal setup soon. But man, coming from my stable of Carvin 5-ers with the Asymetrical (Bunny Brunel) neck shape and a 34" Scale, I was a little skeptical on how the neck on this Laky feels. But wow, it feels fantastic.

I still need to plug her in (my bass rig is out of commission while I work on my studio...) since I only had an hour to noodle around last evening but I am really looking forward to hearing it. Hoping to respond to this thread by next week with those impressions.

My brother! You must've gotten the other roasted maple neck? Brian mentioned that there were 2 they got in stock when mine came in.

Thank you! I had an idea a couple years ago to recreate my 73 Tele Bass through Lakland. I'm loving it. Plays so smooth. That neck!!!

The pickup is a Novak EB-BSx2. We split the p/u w/ a push/pull tone knob.

Thank you! I had an idea a couple years ago to recreate my 73 Tele Bass through Lakland. I'm loving it. Plays so smooth. That neck!!!

The pickup is a Novak EB-BSx2. We split the p/u w/ a push/pull tone knob.

I am so happy with the way it turned out. It's an incredible instrument built by some incredible people. Brian was so helpful every step of the way. He had one being built right now. Same p/u. After I mentioned to him using novak and my dilemma about a) asking for a "Lover Tele Bucker" to be re-created, or using a Dark Star he mentioned the 2x BiSonic", I said let's use that. Novak said that the demensions were the same so if I don't like it we can swap it out.

I love it.

With the strap it weighs 9 even.

I've got a Nordstrand Alnico III hum-free pickup en route for this bad boy: 51P4S Hum-Cancelling . The stock single coil is literally jaw dropping, it sounds so good. But, the Nordy is used and was priced right. So, I'll give it a try. I will let you guys know my thoughts.

The bridge pickup in that last pic looks a little sketchy, though.
