Lakland Owners Group #69

This just arrived today!

I ordered it when it first came out... But it was out if stock.

Amazon actually cancelled my order after a while... But I'm ok with that because I was able to snag this copy cheaper!

Amazon killed my order after 5 months of waiting on it. I actually ended up ordering it from Amazon UK as it was still sold out everywhere stateside.

It should come with a bottle of Beano as all it did was give me tons of G.A.S.!

Nice rig! I also have a Mesa WD-800. Killer amp!

Yesterday I put a set of EMG GZR on my skyline 44-64. I have to admit that it’s a tough choice between the stock Neo punch and the GZRs.

The Neos seem to have more low mids and also some natural compression to them, while the GZR are my “dynamic” and with a different mid focus

The Neopunch is still my favorite P pickup though I have not had a chance to try the Geezer yet. I’d really dig one of the new Geezer signatures. I’m a sucker for black-on-black basses!

Yes! Those basses look sick!

I recorded a comparison video between both pickups. I’ll be uploading it soon :)

I might need to drill some new holes for the EMG pickups, though. Lakland drilled the holes for the D/G string half too close together and dialing in the right pickup height is not optimal

Greetings and Salutations!

Not sure what year yours is, but my 5501 had Bartolinis. I swapped out the electronics for a Nordstrand pre because I decided there was too much noise when I turned up the treble control. While I was at it, I also did the pickups for a set of Nordy Zen Blades. Love the preamp :bassist: And I like the Blades. But if I were to go back and do it again I'd leave the Barts in place.

...but Im already getting the itch to change the preamp and pickups.

..and you say you don't have GAS... :roflmao::laugh::bassist:
