As far as predicting sound based on supposed tonal characteristics of specific woods is concerned, count me among those who don't believe it's possible. Every bass sounds a tad different, but trying to predict what one will sound like based on wood is something I have never seen done by a human with his ears alone. There is as much variability in wood density and resonance between pieces of the same wood as there is between different species. If you want to believe each wood type sounds a certain way, go ahead...I am still waiting for someone to blindly differentiate wood types consistently and prove me wrong. Happy thumpin'![]()
