I had a Lindy Fralin pickup swapped into my new US 44-64, and it’s perfect. The sound is exactly what I was looking for, and of course the bass plays like a dream. The stock Lakland pickup wasn’t bad, but the output was incredibly hot, and it was a bit more modern sounding than vintage. This Fralin pickup is 100% vintage P bass tone, with the output that I’m used to from a P bass.

My first 4464 had the fralins in it and I loved it.
The Hanson/Lakland vintage P pickup is very similar imo...
Just put s Fralin in my Fluffder Sting 51 P-bass with immediate better tone results.

I LOVED the Fralin split 51 pickup that I put in the Lakland 51 prototype. I don’t think you can go wrong with any Fralin!

I’ve got a Nordstrand Blade PJ set (with black blades) in my Streamer and they sound great! I’d get those, if you want a more aggressive sound.Count me in the group! I recently bought this baby used and am pretty pleased:

Hey guys....Looking for a light (under 9 lbs) 44-02.
Not concerned about looks/dings/scratches/mojo. Bart’s or Hanson...Korean or Indonesian...Don’t matter to me none. I just need to be able to get it in my grubby hands, set it up to my liking and gig it. So it has to be 100% functional with no issues.
Let me know if any of you Lakheads wants to sell one.
In the meantime, here’s my #1. An ‘05 Scheff modded with Hanson pickups and Hanson preamp. Bone nut installed for good measure.
