Check this out! Our fellow Lākland fan John, at Gecko Leather Works, has made a strap for my Carlo! Orange stitching to go with the Markus Orange paint. And, brown leather and a unique piece of elephant should work nicely with the bois de rose fretboard and tort. I'm a happy dude!View attachment 3537005

If I 'member correctly, this one is getting a birdseye maple board neck. 34" scale, so it's a 54-94 P/MM. Carl told me about this one a while back, before the build started.

They're building two 34" 5ers at the same time. The other will be similar to daphne blue with a beautifully grained RW board.

Yeah. I think she was after a different look though. The birdseye isn't that pronounced either. Oh well.

It is beautiful, but I don't know if I could rock that color. I have looked at it many times. I have to say it is growing on me even though it is a 5er. I don't own a 5.

I have to admit, I would like to have at least one, even if it was a Skyline. Doug your collection is to die for. Never tire of seeing your 5er's!

What I have done as a quick cheat as a 5er cheat, is use my Digitech Bass Whammy pedal. Drops everything down a second or a fourth, so E string goes down to D or B. Works reasonably well. I have the first gen that I have had for at least 15 years. Has harmony and detune setting which is a great chorus sound. Very versatile pedal.
