There's a B-stock one on the email they (Lakland) sent today, fyi....I am not finding this new color 55-02 at the Sweetwater site yet.
Yup, was inquiring on that one and it's already gone...There's a B-stock one on the email they (Lakland) sent today, fyi....
Figured that one would last 5 minutes at best.Yup, was inquiring on that one and it's already gone...
That’s very nice!I picked up one of the last “exclusive” Sweetwater colors last week before these new purple ones showed up. It was a demo. Inquired on it and got a massive reduction added. So I couldn’t pass it up.

Wow! I love it. Early Lakland BLISS! Love the early ones. Congrats.I’m done buying for a while!! Let me just say that first, before posting pics of what arrived today. The Carlo came last Wednesday, and today, FedEx dropped off a first year Lakland SN 93 (in like new condition). View attachment 3529492 View attachment 3529494 View attachment 3529495 This thing has zero relief and no detectable string buzz! I’ve only had a couple other basses that could handle that kind of setup, which is my preference. John (xnewyorka here on TB) said he only played it a few hours the entire time he’s owned it. And, he bought it new. It sounds phenomenal! He maintained it meticulously! I am blessed that I was able to get it!

That says a lot! I quit buying Skylines, back before Lakland’s ownership changed, due to Skyline quality and playability issues. I may be buying some Skylines in the near future.Plays great too. Sounds and plays as good as my 55-94 honestly.

Thanks! I need to message the seller and ask if he did any setup on #93, cause I know he does stuff like that. This has to be the fastest buzz-free US that I’ve laid my hands on, and I’ve got to be approaching 25 or more, at this point. #11 is great, and has a (barely) more comfy neck, but it has some minor buzzing. Granted, I set my basses up to have some buzz, and typically file the nut slots down to where a zero fret would be. I do refrets, leveling, crowning, polishing, minor repairs, etc. But, I’ve yet to touch a Lakland fret. They’re so tiny that I’m dreading the day that I need to level/crown/polish any.Wow! I love it. I’m very disappointed right now. My new USA 44-64 came in today. I just unboxed it and started checking it out. I just noticed that they left a bridge screw missing. Not only that, but the hole they drilled in the body isn’t perfectly aligned with the mounting hole on the bridge. That means that putting a screw in it would cause the screw to go at a bad angle. This is unacceptable for a $3,400 bass. I just emailed Lakland, asking that they fix it.

I had also requested that the pickup cover not be installed on the bass. I won’t use the cover, and I’d rather not have those two holes drilled in the pickguard. They installed it anyway.
That’s some pretty grain and a beautiful paint job too!I got my bass back from Lakland today, and it’s perfect now. The issues were fixed, and it’s now exactly as I had hoped it would be.

I'm so tempted to add a 44-01 to the 44-02.
And yes, I'll admit to having thought about modifying the 44-02 to have a 44-01 neck pup.
Can't bring myself to do it as it's just too good a bass, and not just this one. I've played two others and they all played great.

But you haven't tried a 44-01 and there isn't a dealer for hundreds of miles...
OTOH, sometimes you've just got to have faith and I've learned never to sleep on a featherweight.
Look what is headed my way and I don't particularly like coffee table basses!
