Holy P-bass Batman! That's fantastic looking!

Very belated (but new) pics of the Hollowbody.:) @BigDBass

Making me all nostalgic! My first hollowbody was a CAR skyline, sold it for a DPLE II. My second hollowbody was pearl white with dual dark stars - I miss that bass terribly.

Sooo I Got my Lakland, visually it's stunning - I installed the straplocks without any problems.

Put in a brand new duracell ultra battery. So far so good....

But unfortunately being an idiot, I assumed the stock strings are poopie, I took them off (cut them to pieces). Took my boomers, and ... they are too short for that scale.

So I'm left stringless till friday and I can't even play the bass.

what the shag was i thinking ?

So I bought an Ampeg SVT-4 Pro a few years back (which is just sitting in my storage room in a rack, not getting used) and the guy I bought it from wants it back and offered me a Skyline 55-01 in cherryburst in trade. As $$ goes, it's fairly equal considering the value of an SVT-4 has dropped and are getting harder and harder to sell so while I have no need for another 5 string Lakie, I'm thinking it would be easier to sell it in time if necessary than a big ol' bass head. I don't usually ask for advice but what do y'all think? Should I do this?

I think that’s a good trade, also I feel like it’s easier (with less weight), and safer to send basses through the mail than amp heads and cabinets. Just my opinion though...

Good things come to those who wait..

:)

Out of town for a few days or I would have a some pics to share, but now just a question: What is the preferred source for 44-60 pickguards these days? Either B/W/B, or perhaps matte black, or perhaps black perloid.

I've ordered at least 5 from these guys -

AAMOF, just yesterday I ordered a replacement pickguard from them for a Modulus Genesis VJ4.
Haven't had a bad one yet.
Here's their take on classic red tort.

Well if you're like me you'll end up with stacks of used and new strings in extra long scale. I probably have 50 + sets of all types. If you're in SoCal I could spot you a set to relieve the anxiety. Lol.
