I hear you. I've gotten a bunch from GC- some good, some not so good, some I just didn't care for. Zero-hassle 45-day returns and any problem with the instrument they refund the $20 shipping as well. My track record is 2 out of 3 returned; 50-50 for issues/not right for me.

I bet @basspraiser agrees you can find great US Scheffs there. :D I absolutely love mine. If anyone is looking they have a killer Skyline Scheff in gold right now and if that were fretless it would be on it's way instead.
If I keep this fretless 44-94 it may get Scheffed.

Anyone have a fretless Scheff to sell SPEAK UP NOW!

Given today's economic outlook Bobby Vega's feeding frenzy bass may have been ahead of it's time:

Has anyone used the 34 scale hollowbody extensively? Do they have feedback issues? I have been hunting one (sunburst with chisonics) feverishly for a new project I joined. Fretless preferably, but fretted is fine as well for the right price. It’s one of the only Lakland models I’ve never gotten to try, so I rally am wondering if they are more prone to feedback issues.

Looks like a very early (first year of production) 55-01, modified to have EMGs. The early ones had the US sized tuners with the non-clover keys.... very nice! Also, I have a Peavey TL-5 that I stuck EMG 40TWs in w/ an EMG pre and WOW, what an improvement! I bet yours sounds great!

I've had all three pickup versions of the Skyline HB and never had a feedback issue even facing the cab.

That’s awesome. Thanks for the response. I have a line on one with the Chi Sonics, but I need to sell my bass to get it. Not likely under the current circumstances.

So I bit. The big ol’ rack with SVT-4 are gone, traded for a 2002 (number begins with 0205) Korean 55-01 I didn’t know it was Korean until just now after I’d cleaned it, oiled it, installed some new strings, and played around with it for a while. Even though I’m stuck at home with no gigs, time has not yet been real available to actually practice. The fact it’s Korean may explain why my initial impressions for build and tone have greatly exceeded my expectations. I’d heard 55-01’s can lack in the tone department but I’m very pleased with these Bart’s. I assume it has the Bart pre but I haven’t opened the back to check yet.

Anyway, here she is.

I’ll mess around with it a bit more once the ol’ work life slows down a bit but I’m very happy I made the trade. Back up to 5 Laklands now though...
